[Breaking news] New Dynamic Soaring world record !

Spencer Lisenby established a New Dynamic Soaring world record 513 mph flying his Kinetic 130 at Weldon, with a wind up to 60 mph. 513 mph is 825,6 km/h, an impressive 229 m/s. This is just insane !
Congratulation to Spenser for this achievement !

  1. Sorry guys, but 100% same photo 3 years ago (with 428mph speed).

    Fake?
    Photoshop?
    Why?

    1. If you have a better picture to illustrate the news, please share !
Yes, it is an old picture with the new speed updated on the radar. The objective was to put a face on the record, as this pilot, Spencer, deserves it.

    2. The photo and the model are the same. You are correct. Dynamic soaring is evolutionary by nature, and weather/location dependent in addition. Pilot attentiveness is also a factor. When all is at maximum, the results are astonishing. The model may poke along in the 400+ range, but all is on tip, +500. Not fake, not photoshopped, wholly genuine. - Steven Seim, designer of the Kinetic line. - mastermind@cybermodelle.com Many thanks to you.

    4. An additional item. Aircraft speed was actually higher than that recorded, possibly by as much as 50 mph or slightly more. Speed is recorded by primitive hand held radar, as the aircraft traverses UPHILL (uphill) on its orbit. The aircraft has an aggregate cross section so minimal that often times the radar equipment does not see it. 'No Read' is common. Modern telemetry is starting to showcase how quick the aircraft actually is, but the use of radar is still defacto. Again, not fake or falsified in any way, shape or form. The results are wholly genuine. Think on the Kinetic V2, and the updated Kinetic 2-meter travelling 10 times the prevailing wind speed, and more. Loadings that can approach 100 G's. Many thanks to you.

  2. This is very bad. Fake. Cheating. Distrust of the results.

  3. Bad thing is Photoshoping. Looks like "fake news" when you see old and "new" picture.
